Among the kings who reigned over the israelites. David became the standard of success. The secret of his success lay in his faith with God and unwavering commitment to obedience to God's commands. God promised him that he will never lack a man on the throne of Israel, but he knew that the promise required that his children be commited to walk in God's way. He took time to instruct his son to follow God and to obey His instruction. Fulfilment of God's promise to parents, are often truncated when their children abandon the faith or follow God's commands half-heartedly. Are you following God with great commitment? Anything less may makr you forfeits God's blessing.
